The “Client feeling” system of Ford Motor Company makes a long-term and systemic survey and feeds back the rusult in the developing and manufacturing process. This perfect cycle can be seen in the design of Ford Windstar as an example. One prospective client group of Windstar is mothers. Based on the fulling understanding of mothers’ expectation, Ford released various kinds of considerate design fullfilled by motherhood such as the induction rebounded door in order to avoid hand jammed for impish kids, specoal safe carseat which provide more secuirty for the children, even cancel the ashtray to ensure the health of the children in details. That’s why the Ford Reliability Guide Process was implemented to tackle client’s emerging concerns and remedy any remedy any client-perceived product defects. In 1998, the Ford Focus was the first vehicle manufactured using this process. Ultimately, we aim to have all 140 manufacturing plants attain QS9000 certification by the end of 2000.
We've strived even harder in the area of safety because we believe that protecting the driver, his passengers and pedestrians is a basic responsibility of a car manufacturer. Ford has concentrated its efforts in two areas: employing the most innovative technology to prevent accidents and minimizing injuries in a crash.
Fracture-Split Connecting Rod
For the ISL with CM850, the connecting rod design continues to be an angle-split rod; however, the surface between the connecting rod and the cap is no longer machined. This is a fracture-split rod meaning the cap is separated utilizing a high momentum impact, resulting in a unique surface on every connecting rod cap. The surface of the connecting rod and cap must be protected against damage; the cap and rod must be reassembled before performing any cleaning. Any damage to the fractured surface will result in an improper torque on the connecting rod capscrews.
Piston Cooling Nozzle
Both ISC and ISL with CM850 engines are equipped with J-jet directed piston cooling nozzles. The nozzle geometry is similar to the ISL with CM554 with slight changes to the oil spray targeting for improved cooling of the piston. A standard capscrew secures the piston cooling nozzle, replacing a banjo style bolt for added strength and oil flow.

断面分裂式连接杆

活塞冷却喷嘴
配备CM85O电子模块的ISC 及ISL发动均配有J型活塞冷却喷嘴。喷嘴外形与配有CM554的ISL外形相似。只是为了达到更好的活塞冷却效果而在机油喷射方向做了稍许改动。 为了提高强度及机油流量，活塞冷却喷嘴使用标准螺栓替代空心螺栓进行固定。
